Cats' LadyVet – Doctorița Pisicilor – Centre of Excellence in Feline Medicine offers you Cat TeleHealth, a modern feline veterinary telemedicine and teleconsulting service, designed especially for cats and for the real needs of their human parents.

Cat TeleHealth is an extension of veterinary care, delivered remotely in a professional, empathetic and secure setting, and its aim is to support, not replace, in-person clinical consultations when these are needed.

The service combines:

  • TeleMedicine – medical monitoring, interpretation of clinical data and adjustment of existing treatments, within the limits allowed by law;
  • TeleConsulting – nutritional, behavioural and educational advice and advice on managing the living environment, tailored to each feline patient and also aimed at future cat parents, to help them choose the right cat responsibly and to make the start of the human–cat relationship balanced, informed and harmonious from the very first days.

We want to help feline patients who:

  • cannot tolerate travel or a clinic examination,
  • live far from our centre,
  • need continuous monitoring and fine adjustments to their treatment,
  • are in chronic, post-operative or palliative care programmes,
  • or whose families need medical clarity and guidance between in-person visits.

When is Cat TeleHealth recommended?

  • When your cat is extremely stressed or anxious during travel or clinic examinations, and the journey itself is a major emotional or physiological risk factor.
  • When you live outside Bucharest or in another town and want expertise devoted exclusively to feline medicine, without having to travel long distances.
  • When clinical progress needs monitoring, a treatment needs fine-tuning or medical results need interpreting (laboratory tests, imaging, medical reports).
  • When your cat has a chronic condition (kidney, endocrine, digestive, haematological, dermatological, etc.) or is in a palliative care programme, where continuity and nuanced decisions are essential.
  • When you need personalised nutritional, behavioural or educational advice, tailored to your cat's age, lifestyle and your family situation.
  • When questions arise between in-person consultations and you want an informed medical answer without waiting for the next clinic visit.

In addition, Cat TeleHealth is also recommended:

  • When you need a second feline medical opinion, based on existing records, to clarify the diagnosis or treatment options.
  • When your cat is recovering from surgery and her progress, surgical wound, behaviour or tolerance of treatment need assessing.
  • When you have several cats at home and problems arise with integration, stress, tension or behavioural changes that need a step-by-step, carefully guided approach.
  • When your cat is a senior or super-senior – either apparently healthy but going through the natural ageing process, or already diagnosed with chronic conditions – situations in which continuous monitoring, careful adjustment of care and personalised advice become essential to maintain comfort and a good quality of life.
  • When you have received different or contradictory recommendations and need a coherent medical summary, explained clearly and in terms you understand.
  • When you want support in making difficult medical decisions, in an empathetic, calm, pressure-free setting.

How does Cat TeleHealth work?

Cat TeleHealth consultations take place online, in writing, by phone or by video, and are always tailored to the feline patient. The process is structured and efficient:

  1. Booking request – by phone or e-mail
  2. Sending the medical history and relevant documents (medical records, reports, test results, ultrasound scans, X-rays, etc.)
  3. The remote consultation – e-mail, phone call or video call
  4. Complete written guidance – medical recommendations, treatment adjustments, diet, lifestyle and management of the living environment
  5. Monitoring & follow-up, on request, depending on the patient's progress

Why choose Cat TeleHealth?

  • Zero stress for your cat – no travel, no clinic noises or smells
  • Quick access to a vet specialising in feline medicine, wherever you are
  • Time, patience and clear guidance, without rush or pressure
  • Comfort and peace of mind for the parent, from the familiar surroundings of your own home

The cat parent's / carer's responsibilities

So that the Cat TeleHealth service can be provided correctly, usefully, completely and in line with medical standards, the cat's parent takes on the following responsibilities:

  • Providing complete, accurate and up-to-date information about the cat's health, medical history, treatments given and the clinical progress observed.
  • Sending all available medical records, including all tests, imaging, medical reports and previous recommendations, however old, so that the vet can decide the clinical relevance of each document.
  • Complying with the conditions of the remote consultation, including:
    • keeping to the agreed date and time of the appointment;
    • being available for the whole consultation;
    • using the agreed communication channel (video, phone or e-mail).
  • Paying for the consultation in advance and sending proof of payment before the final confirmation of the appointment date and time, as instructed.
  • Accepting the inherent limitations of telemedicine, as well as the recommendation to visit a veterinary clinic in person whenever the vet considers that a remote assessment is not sufficient or safe for the patient.

When a Cat TeleHealth request may be declined

The medical team may refuse or stop access to this service in situations such as:

  • a suspected medical emergency, i.e. any situation in which the cat is in a critical or potentially critical condition, shows clinical signs suggesting a threat to life or needs immediate medical intervention (for example: difficulty breathing, collapse, severe acute pain, poisoning, bleeding, seizures, altered consciousness).
  • the need for a direct physical examination, sample collection or injectable treatments;
  • Incomplete or contradictory medical information or lack of cooperation – situations that undermine the quality of the remote assessment, compromise the accuracy of medical advice and may lead to inappropriate or clinically insufficiently founded recommendations.
  • requests that go beyond the legal or professional limits of remote veterinary care.

In these situations, the parent will be directed to an in-person clinical consultation, in the cat's interest.

How do you access Cat TeleHealth?

To access the service, send a request via our contact page.

Once you have sent your request, you will receive a form to fill in, together with clear instructions on sending the required medical records.

The request is then reviewed and validated by the Cats' LadyVet medical team, and the parent will receive explicit confirmation that:

  • the request has been received;
  • all the necessary medical records have been received;
  • the case is eligible for a TeleHealth assessment.

The appointment is set in advance and becomes firm only once the service has been paid for. Final confirmation of the appointment and the details of the online consultation session (date, time and platform used) are sent after we receive proof of payment.

Until you receive this final confirmation from Cats' LadyVet, the request does not constitute a valid appointment.

Important note

Cat TeleHealth does not replace veterinary clinical consultations in acute or emergency situations, or in any context in which the cat's condition requires a direct physical examination, immediate diagnostic tests or prompt medical intervention. In such cases, an emergency visit to a veterinary clinic is essential for a correct assessment and for the cat's safety and life.
